Editor-in-Chief

PRESIDENT’S  MESSAGE

Julia  Sullivan
Senior  Class  President

This yearbook is my attempt to capture all the
memories we have had over our years at SHS. As
the editor, I9ve spent many hours reviewing pic¬
tures to include in our yearbook. The yearbook
stuff has chosen the ones that they feel best re¬
mind us of all the great times we have had at
SHS. Our goal as the yearbook staff has been to
include all the members of the class of ’99, which
is not an easy task. From the prom and the semi,
to the rallies and sporting events, we’ve included
just  about  everyone.

, Thanks to all the members of the yearbook
J staff for selling ads and their dedication in com¬
piling this yearbook. Thanks to the merchants
d friends who generously donated money to pro-
financial assitance to fund our yearbook.
\anks to Joe Geoffreys of Chestnut Hills Stu-
>s and Norval Garnett of Jostens yearbook.
Most of all thank you M. LaMothe for your ex¬
pertise,  patience,  and  guidance.

Follow your dreams class of ’99 and best of luck
t* all  in  the  future.

V

It seems that just yesterday we were the “little
fish” in the “big pond” of Somerset High School.
The last four years have quickly passed and now it
is time for us to move on. It is time for us to leave
behind the comfort of SHS. Our high school experi¬
ence has prepared us well to take this leap into the
“real world”. Not only have our experiences at Som¬
erset High School taught us to survive academically,
but they have also helped us to develop confidence,
to become individuals, to recognize our strengths,
weaknesses, dreams, goals, and to learn how to
work as a team. Over the past four years we have
proved our ability to work together. We have stood
by one another through difficult times, and also sup¬
ported each other’s triumphs and successes.

The Class of 1999 has brought a new level of
spirit to and pride to Somerset High School. As we
move on in life may we always carry with us the
sense of enthusiasm and dignity, which was fostered
here at SHS. Take the values and life lessons which
you learned here, and allow them to act as a founda¬
tion for your future endeavors. Through whatever
lies ahead, may we always keep our memories from
Somerset High School close to our hearts.

To the Senior Class of 1999,

I wish you the best of luck.

r\  idu?

The  Class  of  1999
Will  Always  Remember

Alan  Couto

February  8, 198 1 -July  19 ,  1998

I  am  fume  in  Heaven,  dear  ones;
Jill's so Happy, all’s so bright!
There’s  perfect  joy  and  beauty
In  this  everlasting  light.

Jill the pain and grief are over,

' Every  restless  tossing  passed;

I am nou> at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

(Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the Halley of the shade l
Oh!  but  Jesus’  love  illumined
“Every  darSfand  fearful  glade.

Jlnd he came Himself to meet me
In  that  way  so  hard  to  tread;
Jlnd with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread ?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
for  l  love  you  dearly  still;

Try to loo ^beyond earth’s shadows,
i pray to trust our father’s will

There is worlds till waiting for you,
So  you  must  not  idle  stand;

“Do  your  worthwhile  life  remaineth-
fou shall rest in Jesus’ land.

( When that wortfis all completed,
He  will gently  call  you  home;

Oh, the rapture of the meeting!
Oh, the joy to see you come!
